Having inked a deal to play with the Virginia Squires in the upstart ABA, shooting guard Charlie Scott shunned the NBA and dominated the high-scoring circuit. This medallion was awarded to Scott for his exploits during the 1971-72 ABA campaign. Measuring 2-1/2”-diameter, this 4.4-oz. bronze prize features relief likenesses and engraved details on both sides. Entitled “THE CHRIS SCHENKEL MEDALLION” in honor of the legendary announcer, the facing has a likeness of Schenkel and an “ABA ALL-PRO” proclamation. On the reverse, an engraving reads: “awarded to CHARLEY SCOTT 71-72.” As an encore to his Rookie of the Year showing, Scott paced the ABA with 34.6 points per game in 1971-72, establishing a single-season standard that will forever stand in the since-defunct league. The relic comes in its original hinged case. LOA signed by Charlie Scott.
