On hand for New York City’s 1965 installment of the annual Brooklyn vs. Philly street hoops exhibition on 128th St. and 7th Ave, NBA legend Wilt Chamberlain was not the headliner that day. No, all eyes were on Commerce High School product and Globetrotters star Ron “Jumpin’ Jackie” Jackson, who blocked two Chamberlain shots and poured in 72 points of his own to earn this unique award ball. The Spalding model features a painted legend which reads: “Ron Jackson – N.Y. vs Philly – 1965 M.V.P. 72 Pts.” The relic was likely used that day and is partially split at two of the seams.
