Preceded by Jackie Robinson on the playing field and by Frank Robinson in the dugout, Hall of Famer Larry Doby was both the second black player and second black manager. During the former role, Doby wore and autographed this Cleveland Indians cap. The blue wool accessory dates to 1951-1953 and features a red “C” embroidered to the front center. On the bill’s underside, Doby has signed in black marker (“8-9” strength). The interior sweatband is home to a “Wilson” label and size “7” stamping. Light wear is evident with perspiration-induced soiling on the sweatband.
