While the 1938 and 1939 New York Yankees installments simply continued a run of World Series titles, there was a marked difference as Lou Gehrig, who had helped lead the charge in ’38, had been fatally diagnosed during the latter campaign and forced to prematurely end his remarkable career. These (2) World Series programs were respectively issued for the 1938 and 1939 Fall Classic tilts. Includes: 1938 issued at Yankee Stadium for the Game 4 clincher, this 28-page guide features partially marked scoring grids. Covers and crisp pages are intact with a small tear on the front cover; 1939 issued at Cincinnati’s Crosley Field, this 44-page guide presents beautifully with covers/pages intact.
