In the sizable shadow cast by the New York Yankees, the Detroit Tigers remained competitive throughout the 1930s and 1940s, reaching the Fall Classic four different times during those decades and winning it all twice. These (2) World Series programs were issued in Motown during hotly contested World Series showdowns in which the Tigers were ultimately felled in Game 7 setbacks. Includes: 1934 issued at Navin Field, this 40-page guide features photos and text detailing the host players. The center (scorecard) page is detached but present; 1940 issued at Briggs Stadium, this 36-page guide features photos of both Tigers and Reds players. The center (scorecard) page is detached but present, and has been marked to detail the Tigers’ 7-4 Game 3 triumph.
