While his absence from the hallowed halls of Cooperstown remains a mystery, Gil Hodges will forever remain a favorite in the hearts of fans from Brooklyn, Los Angeles and beyond. The offered Adirondack (34.1-oz/35) 113A signature model bat was wielded by the star first baseman as he posted the second-highest home run total (310) during the 1950s. Specifically, the uncracked white ash weapon was turned during the 1956-1957 labeling period and shows excellent use in the form of ball and bat-rack marks throughout, as well as stitch impressions and grain swelling on the hitting surface. The knob is home to a vintage black marker inscription of 14. Full photo LOA from John Taube, PSA/DNA.
