Vintage boxing enthusiasts will appreciate this lobby card display. Framed to dimensions of 29-3/8 x 26-3/8” under tan-colored matting, this illustration portrays a scene from the boxing-themed “Sporting Life” play. The piece dates to the early “gloves” days and shows a first-round knockout of an unfortunate pugilist lying almost completely off the canvas. The piece lists performances at both Chicago’s since-razed McVickers Theatre and New York’s Academy of Music. The frame is of showroom quality.

Frames included with lots: while we make every effort to protect the frames included in these lots during pre-auction storage and post-auction shipping, we are not responsible for any damage to the frames themselves, and no refunds will be given due to frame damage.
