Description

The most formidable one-two punch in baseball annals, Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig were familiar names at the ballpark, in the streets, on the sandlots and of course, on store model baseball bats. These (7) vintage examples were used in amateur attempts to duplicate “Murders Row.” Turned during the pair’s glorious playing days through the 1950s, these white ash weapons exhibit heavy use and are individually listed on our website.

1.) a James W. Brine Co. (33”) uncracked “Major League” Babe Ruth block-letter model (original owner’s name carved into barrel)
2.) 1930s Hillerich & Bradsby (35”) uncracked Babe Ruth signature model with center brand features including a “40” retail designation and “Oil Tempered” stamping
3.) 1950-1960 Hillerich & Bradsby (33”) Babe Ruth signature model with 8-1/2” slice of wood missing from hitting surface
4.) 1950-1960 Hillerich & Bradsby (35”) Babe Ruth signature model with 13” H-shaped handle crack
5.) 1943-1949 Hillerich & Bradsby (33”) “G69” Lou Gehrig signature model with Hornsby-style knob and multiple handle cracks secured by vintage nails
6.) Hillerich & Bradsby (34”) “No 14 Safe Hit” Lou Gehrig block-letter model with Hornsby-style knob and excessive indentations about the barrel
7.) Hillerich & Bradsby (36”) “No 14 Safe Hit” Lou Gehrig signature model with dead wood on both sides of barrel, a 9” slice of wood missing from hitting surface and chips about the knob
