With the fifth installment of the Mid-Summer Classic in the Nationís Capital, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt did ceremonial first pitch honors before the Griffith Stadium patrons witnessed an exhibition that all but marked the end of Dizzy Deanís Hall of Fame career. Encapsulated and assessed ďAuthenticĒ by PSA, this ticket stub is one of only six graded and hails from a historically significant contest. With printed seating and event details, the voucher presents nicely, though handwritten notations on either side account for the technical grade. Having retired the first two batters in the bottom of the third, Dean yielded a base hit to Joe DiMaggio, a two-run homer to Lou Gehrig and then was struck on the toe by an Earl Averill liner. Deanís toe was fractured and he was ineffective for the remainder of his career.
