Description

Political aficionados will wish to elect this “Free Frank” envelope signed by 19th Century Congressman and Senator Daniel Webster (d.1852). Mr. Webster considered one the greatest statesmen in U.S. history applied his endorsement (“9” strength) in black ink by steel tip fountain pen to an envelope addressed to Ms. Elhanan Hall of Mansfield. Though completely yellowed this antique 7-1/4 x 3-1/2” mail cover is solid and intact with a crisp feel. Also included in this offering is an 1873 engraved print with overall measurements of 8 x 10-3/4”. Full photo LOA from JSA.
