A Phillies fixture as both a player and mentor, former backstop Andy Seminick garnered MVP consideration as a member of the 1950 “Whiz Kids” and went on to groom franchise greats such as Schmidt, Jenkins and Boone. This Philadelphia Phillies road jersey was worn by Seminick during the 1967 season. The gray flannel button-down garment features “Phillies” across the chest in red embroidery on white twill and “2” sewn to the back in like fashion. Within the collar, a strip tag features “Seminick” and “67” embroidered in blue. On the left front tail, a “Wilson” tag has a faded size designation. This all-original gamer is an appealing relic from the days of Shibe Park. Subsequently used in the minor leagues, the jersey added an MLB 100th Anniversary patch (1969), which has since been removed. Moderate wear is evident. Full photo LOA from Dave Miedema.
