After a lackluster showing in 1958, the All-Star Game converted to a two-game format in 1959. While the short-lived experiment was unusual, so is this ball. Gathered at Pittsburgh’s Forbes Field for the July 7, 1959 “first” installment, the six arbiters saw fit to autograph this ONL Giles ball. The off-white orb (grade “6-7”) is decorated in blue ballpoint by the pennings of: North Panel Al Barlick (“8” strength) and Joe Paparella (“7”); South Panel Shag Crawford (“6”); West Panel Ed Runge (“7”) and John Rice (“6-7”); East Panel Augie Donatelli.
